+Does it have to be a songfic?
Nope! You can do anything inspired by music, could have a character playing guitar, could have everyone singing and dancing. It doesn't have to involve a specific song or lyrics.+ What is a song fic?
Song fics are fanfiction that takes from lyrics of songs and either inspires a work or is included in the work.+ Will reader insert items be accepted into the zine?
The zine is for canon content only. You can however apply with a reader insert item if you like.+ Is this zine free or for profit?
This will be a free zine.+ How many pieces are we required to do if we get accepted?
For writers, we are allotting from 1k to 5k words that can be spread out among two smaller pieces (details in "expectations for zine"), or you can have your entire allotted words in just one piece.For artists we expect one full colour completed piece per artist, there might be room for bonus ‘advertisement’ parts.+ Does it cost to participate?
Nope! Just need to apply.+ Will there be a not safe for work portion?
No, the most we are going up to is a PG 13 [suggestive/mild violence]+ Is there an age restriction on applications?
Everyone who applies needs to be 16++Is the zine digital or physical?
Digital.+Can I apply for more than one role?
Yes! But you will only be considered for a max of two roles.+Are you allowing shipping in the zine?
Yes! But it will be in its own section that you can avoid if ships aren’t your thing.

Zine Expectations
What we are looking for.
Writers:
- Max of 5k per writer
- We will be having two sections: A-Side (gen / platonic) and B-Side (ship content) you can do one piece for each side or just pick one or the other. However, if you write 2 pieces the total word count for both can't exceed 5k.
- Using lyrics counts toward your word count.
- Lyrics aren't required, your work just needs to be inspired by music in some way! Whether that be someone playing/singing/dancing, etc. Music needs to be a major part of your piece.
- We might have writers use song lyrics as their fic titles
- This will have canon-only related characters! No xReader or OCs.Artists:
- Expectations for artists are slightly different depending on the role, please make sure you know which you are applying for and are comfortable with:Page Artists:
Create at least one fully colored page that includes a background. [Can be a simple color block background with the lyrics instead of super detailed if preferred]Spot Artists:
Create 2 to 3 fully colored 'spot' drawings (fullbody/waist-up drawings that only feature a character or two). These will accompany stories/sides of pages.Bonus for Spot Artist or Page Artist:
Given a limited pallet for ‘advertisement’ type pieces. Imagine CD/Cassette cases and advertisements that could be seen in music magazines in the 80s.
- You can design back or front covers.
- Maybe a ‘set list’ of silly made-up songs that fit the theme. [Imagine designing soul king Brook’s album for example]For all artists:
- You may be able to do more than the above, say if a page artist wishes to do more than one, or if spot artists want to do more. However, these are the minimum requirements and are what we expect for each role. If you wish to take on more, we will be open for discussion.
